Gosford Forest Park

Gosford Forest Park is the perfect setting to escape from the hustle & bustle of daily life and relax in 600 acres of assorted woodland and parkland.
The park contains over nine miles of public trails and situated seven miles outside the city of Armagh. An ideal setting for camping and caravan enthusiasts and is always alive with walkers, runners and cyclists.
Gosford contains a collection of traditional breeds of poultry and rare breeds of farm animals, and a herd of red deer.
The present castle was completed in or around 1850, for the 2nd Earl and cost £100,000. It was lived in by the family up until 1921. Recently renovated, the Gosford Castle is now made up of several modern apartments.
In its time, parts of the park have been used as a place of education for children all over Ireland (1800s), a prison for German POWs during the second world war and more recently it is home to livestock and agricultural shows like the annual poultry fair and The Armagh Agricultural Show.
