Armagh Planetarium

Armagh Planetarium has always been dedicated to astronomy education for all levels.
Armagh Planetarium offers a unique experience for adults & school visitors and their educational programme has been designed to correspond with the modern science curriculum.
Their aim is to demonstrate the amazing objects that exist in the cosmos, but to do it in such a way that it is not seen as being taught in a formal manner. The planetarium calls this ‘learning by stealth’.
Kids can use interactive displays to learn about the cosmos and keep up to date with the latest space news.
In the astropark, kids can have an out of this world experience as they walk through the scale model of the Solar System and into the Milky Way.
Another key attraction is the digital theatre that offers the visitors an exceptional visual and audio experience of shows which include Little Yellow Star and Perfect Little Planet.
Purpose-built reclining seats will allow the audience to experience the 3-D projection over the Planetarium’s dome.
The Planetarium runs many kids summer events including:
* Planet Aliens Workshop – where you will design and make your very own model alien with the help of the fantastic Emerald Garrison sculptors.
* Jedi Training Programme – where young Padawans are put through their paces. Is the Force strong in you?
* Heroes and Villians – Meet with some iconic costumed characters and see the amazing fan built sets and props from some of the biggest movies and television.
* Rocket Launch – Rocket Man Andy Willis will recruit space engineers in his paper plane workshop and then launch a solid fuel rocket carrying its very own satellite.
* Astronaut Fitness Training – junior space cadets test their astro-fitness at Armagh Planetarium in an 80ft assault course.
Armagh Planetarium is a must visit for all, it really is out of this world.
